UNITED KINGDOM: LABOUR, LIBERAL AND UKIP LEADERS RESIGN FOLLOWING DISMAL PERFORMANCE AT ELECTIONS

Three opposition leaders have stepped down from their positions within an hour of each other following the dismal performance of their parties at the UK elections which took place on Thursday, 7th May.
The Leaders are, Labour- ED Miliband, Liberal Democrats-Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage of UK Independence Party (UKIP).
It was a shocking night for Labour and Liberal Democrats who formed a coalition with the Conservatives in the last government.
However for Scottish National Party (SNP), it was time for celebration as they claimed a landslide victory in Scotland.
Labour Leader, ED miliband announced his resignation while addressing an assembled audience and said,
"This is not the speech I wanted to give today"
"I take absolute and total responsibility for the result and our defeat at the election"
"Britain needs a strong Labour party"
"Now its time for someone else to take leadership of the party"
Miliband said he has phoned David Cameron to congratulate him.
