If you weren’t looking forward to this year’s Super Bowl halftime performance, we may have news that will change your outlook. Though Katy Perry is headlining, the pop star has tapped Lenny Kravitz to join her on stage. In addition to always slaying the style game, we all know that Kravitz plays a MEAN guitar! (Page Six)
Nasty Gal fans might notice a few changes in the near future from their favorite e-tailer. Sophia Amorusa, the sites founder and CEO, has stepped down effective immediately, promoting the current president, Sheree Waterson into the role. While Amorusa won’t be leaving the company, there will undoubtedly be some changes to come, hopefully in the way of much growth. (StyleBlazer)
Just call her fashion’s Jay Z! Cathy Horyn has returned to the fashion critic fold after departing from her position at the New York Times last year. The revered writer will be joining New York Magazine’s The Cut for the Fall 2015 season as the Critic-At-Large. It’s quite a coup for the section, and we’re hoping is only a prelude to Horyn returning in a more permanent position to the industry. (The Cut)
There’s been much ado about Maison Martin Margiela this season, and rightfully so. John Galliano made his official full fledged return to the fashion set this week with his first collection for the brand’s Artisinal line(hopefully we’ll have a review soon). But what seemed to slightly slip through the cracks was a name change. The brand has very discretely dropped the Martin from its name to go by Maison Margiela. Surprisingly, it didn’t need as much of a hullabaloo as when Hedi Slimane went in at Saint Laurent to do so. (Fashionista)
I feel like festival season just ended but apparently it’s about to be back again! To ring it in H&M has linked up with Coachella on a line of the perfect collection of lace, cut offs and crop tops to match your flower crowns! It’s H&M so expect cheap prices — basically from 5 bucks to $50 — and it will hit 350 stores here in the US starting March 19. And if you can’t get your hands on the pieces before the festival, there will be a pop-up shop on site to grab what you need! (Lucky)
